boom bap project returns with ‘hagler vs. hearns’

Boom Bap Project (Portland, OR) is back after a 15-year hiatus to bring us their newest single, ‘Hagler vs. Hearns’. True to their name, Boom Bap Project comes quick with the master-crafted lyrics and rhymes over that old boom-bap beat. The duo MCs trade-off lines and keep the punches rolling while paying homage to their sound and boxer, “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler at the same time. You’re going to have to listen to this one a couple of times to catch all the clever wordplay and expert bars.

This is the first official release from the group since their Rhymesayers release “Reprogram” in 2005. The group consists of MC’s Karim aka Nightclubber Lang and Destro. The track was produced by Trox and feature scratches and cuts by DJ Tre. The single is off the forthcoming album, ‘Return Flight’, set to drop in the near future.
