New York City based artist, David Rhoads, uses his lunch break at The Met to create watercolor studies of ancient art
David Rhoads (b.1987) is currently living and painting in Brooklyn, NY. He works as the Collections Manager in The Department of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and The Americas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
He graduated with a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2010 and previously worked as a preparator at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and dishwasher at You Say Tomato in Kansas City.
Drawing from The Met is an ongoing collection of drawings that Rhoads creates while on his lunch break. Each piece is a study of historical art and sculpture, featured in the halls of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
