Listen: Davie Napalm drops (Pie)Crust

Hailing from St. Louis, producer, and emcee, Davie Napalm drops in with ‘(Pie)Crust’ feat. WTFxPreme. A member of the band Looprat (St. Louis) Napalm has drawn out a successful solo frame with masterful production and rhymes alike.

Beginning with a hypnotic string ensemble loop and a cool-headed Preme, the track eases into a downtempo head bobber that feels reminiscent of a Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist ‘Alfredo’ track. Napalm, without hesitation, backs up Preme as the beat continues steadily over strings until the final line and eventual beat drop after “A’int no money like dope money, it’s hard to leave.”

Davie Napalm clicks and locks every line together with precision and then spreads butter all over the flow. It’s the type of rhymes you want to hear all the time but rarely do when surfin’ the lamestream. I could come back to these tracks day in and day out and as far as I’m concerned this is some of the best hip hop coming out of St. Louis, all things considered.

To that end, Napalm is prominently featured on the final track of nationally recognized Tonina’s 2019 breakout album, ‘St. Lost’ where he whizzes bars together telling a story of human proportion dealing with love lost and broken families. Listen to the song below!

In addition to the music, Napalm spends time at his vegetable farm, building a legacy of sustainability for his family and community. Check out his video below for ‘I’m a Fool’.
