Kobina and MuRli team up to bring us Ra Gerra, a well crafted MC/Producer duo based out of Dublin/Limerick. With the release of their debut single, ‘Terrified’ we are immediately caught in a swirl of oscillating chants that lead straight into the gritty and clever bars from MuRli who, has his own to-be-respected catalogue of music as a solo artist as well as with the Rusangano Family. The song’s chorus and production are dreamy and terrifying all the same. Kobina is no stranger to collaboration having made multiple records with varying artists including last year’s Shogani feat. Obskur Mond. For what is a strong debut single, we are very highly anticipating what’s to come from Ra Gerra. Irish hip-hop has a new front-runner.

MuRli is a rapper, producer and songwriter, who is well known for his evocative lyrics, incredible technique, and is widely sought after for both his pen and production. His success is notable both as a self-produced artist and the composer behind the music of artists like GodKnows, Denise Chaila and as one third of Rusangano Family, the first hip-hop artists ever to win the prestigious RTE Choice Music Prize. It’s no surprise that MuRli is seen as a trailblazer in the ever-growing Irish rap scene. In addition, MuRli also sits on the board of Limerick’s cultural resource centre Ormston House. MuRli’s first two solo EP’s; ‘Surface Tension’ and ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off’ have been lauded by critics both at home and abroad for being both catchy and flawlessly capturing the heart of moments and movements.
